MOSHIKA (RAT) VAHANA

(LORD GANAPATHI’S VAHANA)

Little, happy Moshika is running, playing freely around at the feet of Lord Ganapathi. With no fear and regard of being trampled by the Big Feet of Ganapathi. Little Moshika also partakes some the sweet Modhakam that is being offered to Lord Ganapathi, with no glitch.

What a miserable life, one may think – limited place to run around, no friends to play with, no cheese, no mates, no dark holes, no frenimies, no excitement – Oh, how boring a life it can be…

But Moshika seems happy here. Why?

For the very reason – Moshika is being/playing at the feet of the Lord himself. What greater joy can one experience when placed at the feet of the Lord himself.  ITS BLISS.

Have we tasted this Bliss….its one of those nectars that taste beyond sweetness.

A little, insignificant being, happy and carefree = Moshika

But, we humans are filled with so much Ego (I, Mine, Superiority, Importance, Jealousy, etc) and sense of Doership that we fail to see Lord Ganapathi is being seated amongst us. And, thus, we fail to experience that nectar, Bliss.

Come, let us transform ourselves with the ‘Magic Wand’ of Buddhi (intellect) that we have all been bestowed with – but rather underutilized – to become little, happy, carefree Moshikas.

Come, let us emulate to become little Moshika – deriving JOY from mere being in the presence of the Divine and the Divine is Omnipresent.  He Is Everywhere and accessible at all times.

Let us shrink our Egos and I’s to become so small that we only see ourselves as a small dot on a big piece of white paper. After all, we are only a Tiny Dot in this huge, vast universe.

Let us pray to the Lord to bestow on us the Buddhi to understand how insignificant are our Big Huge Egos and allow us to sit by Him with palms folded in reverence, seeking His guidance and grace.

“Dear Lord, please allow me to sit by Your side at all times. Please keep me close to Yourself. I am not interested in seeking to be in the forefront of this world. I am not interested in seeking the attention and temporary pleasures of this Impermanent World. I am not interested in seeking the Limelight of this world and of the people…..
I rather be at your feet, like the little insignificant Moshika, away from the Maya (illusion) of this world, playing freely at your feet, sometimes, hiding behind your huge feet. Oh, it feels so nice to be close to You. Free and Carefree with no worries and anxiety for I know You will take care of me. I want to be ‘close’ to You so that I could hear Your sweet voice, speaking to me.
Oh, this world is full with so much distraction. I finally find peace and bliss at your feet. Allow me to always serve You with this humility.  In the midst of being with You, I found Myself.”
